Reporting obligation.

I'm probably back in Prague by now, but I still have to get my archival rather than reporting duties done. So just for the record. US in fourth place. Scots third, Murdoch as the fifth player was a really unusual sight. The final is going for the Canadians (skip Koe), after four ends they lead Norway (without Ulsrud - family troubles) 5 to 2 and have the advantage. Overall, the WC has a special atmosphere in that it is "almost a no-brainer". Olympic points are not awarded, teams are fighting for placings mainly for a better chance to get subsidies from their ministries or state institutions. The debate about whether to hold the World Championships in an Olympic year at all is being fought in other sports and is subtly emerging in the curling world. I like the World Championships so far even in an Olympic year, but we'll see what the future brings. Changes such as moving the World Mixed Doubles Championships from April to November suggest that the date calendar will see further adjustments.
