It was a rough night from yesterday to today. We were waiting for the luggage and I told the front desk to call me anytime during the night if they knew anything, and I got off the phone with them at about a quarter to two after midnight. so they called me at five that the luggage had maybe!! arrived. Then again at six, but the car could not get them to the airport until 8:30. In the end, I preferred to go there with the driver alone because I was afraid he would come back without his stuff. So we finally got the suitcases, but we changed the training schedule and moved some other things. The Turks don't worry too much about time. They stand around, smoke, talk and have plenty of time for everything. Training revealed that the ice will be difficult to read and very, very fast. Iceman Jurgen did his best, but the ubiquitous dust did take its toll on the erratic spin and surprising changes of direction. We started with the Turks, who were a bit troublesome at first, but after a five in the eighth end, which they cashed in from us, they stopped bothering us. The second game was the young Scots (Smith and co). Evenly matched to the end, but our strength was leaving us a bit after a hard day and some stones were lightly brushing against the guards and that was enough for the Scots to win narrowly. Hotel Palan is very good, the food is varied and quite good, but from the constant transfers we can't actually catch up with anything other than curling yet.
