The 2009 European Championships have begun.

The 2009 European Championships have started in Aberdeen, Scotland. The men lost their first game in the extra end to Finland in Group A (skip Tomi Rantamaki). The women are yet to play their first game. I won't get to the hall until this afternoon, as my schedule started with two meetings at the Ardous House Hotel, which is several miles away from both halls where the championships are being held. Group B is being played at Curl Aberdeen, which is a local curling hall run by Tom Brewster (two-time European mixed team champion). The local accent is so specific that listening to a conversation in a shop, for example, is virtually impossible; even an Englishman can't understand it. I will introduce some words in the next posts. So let's just keep our fingers crossed for our representatives.
