Two games in a row closed the Czech team's World Championship regular season group. The nineteenth round originally had four matches on the schedule, but only two were played. After the Scots, the Japanese women had to withdraw after having two positive tests and decided not to play in three teams. It almost looks like whoever we beat will withdraw from the tournament. We played the Italians in the third lane. Again, a traditional opponent, but with this championship they have already started on a journey that will end with participation in the 2026 Olympics (Torino, Cortina d'Ampezzo). In an important, very defensive match for the position between tenth and twelfth place, we did not make the eighth end and cashed in a five. This decided the game, which had been very evenly fought up to that point. The twentieth round was already a full round, although the playoffs had already been decided. We wanted to take on Canada, our last opponent, in a televised duel in front of a completely full main stand (estimated at about 1500 spectators). After seven ends we were down 5 : 7 and had a very promising eighth end, albeit without an advantage. However, minor inaccuracies at the very end offered the Canadian skip a solution, which she managed without fail. We still tried the ninth end, but we only scored for one and the tenth end three down with no advantage was meaningless. It was a disappointing loss, but it was an extraordinary experience. We were pleased with the kind words from the fans, but also with the third place overall LSD, which is called DSC. It's probably our best record so far in this separate, skill-based discipline. I'm going to do some form of recap, but not today.
